Laying your new lawn

Try to start at a straight line, such as a drive or fence line. Lay out the rolls as you would a rug.

Make sure that all the joints are butted tightly together without overlapping or with spaces between the strips of turf. Also be sure to stagger the joints in each row to help the turf lock together. Use a large knife for shaping turf around trees and garden beds.

Roll the grass to smooth out small bumps and achieve an even texture. Rolling is not necesssary as it will eventually settle.

Soak the turf as soon as possible after laying to help minimise stress to the root system. Watering your new lawn every day for 2 to 3 weeks is necessary to assist the root system to take hold.

There is no need to top dress your turf, though we do recommend a good coverage of topsoil be placed under your turf. Top soil is only needed to fill in the gaps.

Fertilise your turf at least twice a year, once in the Spring and again towards the end of Summer. We recommend Dynamic Lifter as a fertiliser.
